STAFF Memorandum Decennial Joint Meeting of the City Council and the Economic Development Commission Subject: Meeting Guide From: Ben Gozola, Assistant Director DCAD Meeting Date: 2-21-23 INTRODUCTION The EDC can only play a vital role in Council’s decision-making process when its focal points are aligned with the priorities of elected officials. Approximately once every eight to ten years (or as changing conditions dictate), staff will strive to bring both bodies together to re-evaluate the Commission’s focal points and encourage a dialog that ensures the EDC efforts will provide maximum benefit to Council as it works to implement their vision for the Community.
