<br /> <br />• The Commission thanked the members for the update on the Climate Action Plan <br />and the work that is being done with Partners in Energy. <br /> <br />D. Summer Meeting Schedule - Jennifer Fink, Parks and Recreation Director <br /> <br />Director Fink discussed the summer meeting schedule with the Commission. She indicated <br />she was hoping to hold a park tour in July. She asked members to let her know if they would <br />not be able to attend the July or August meetings. <br /> <br />VII. Announcements <br /> <br />A. City Council Report – Councilmember Pamela Stegora-Axberg <br /> <br />Councilmember Stegora-Axberg provided the Commission with an update from the City <br />Council. She stated she was really happy to be back as the Council Liaison for PREC. She <br />reported the Council has been focused on Commissions for the last several months by <br />holding interviews, making Commission appointments and recently held a worksession <br />meeting with the Commission Chairs and Vice Chairs. She discussed the community Iftar <br />dinner that was held in April and noted more than 100 people attended. She commented on <br />the housing study the Council had completed and was in the process of reviewing. <br /> <br />B. PREC Chair Updates – Julia O’Rourke <br /> <br />Chair O’Rourke encouraged the Commission to participate in Mow Less May and to post <br />their yard signs. She discussed the buckthorn event that was scheduled for Earth Day noting <br />it was canceled and rescheduled for Saturday, May 6 at Hidden Oaks Park from 9:00 a.m. to <br />12:00 p.m. <br /> <br />C. Department Happenings and Upcoming Events – City Staff <br /> <br />Director Fink commented on the touch a truck and recent prayers services that were held at <br />the Community Center. She reviewed photos from the prayer event and noted this was one <br />of her favorite events at the Community Center each year. She thanked her staff for all of <br />their efforts in order to make both of these events possible on the same day at the <br />Community Center. She reported the City’s concert series begins Thursday, May 11. She <br />explained 17 people have signed up for the pollinator program. She indicated the golf <br />course was open and came through the winter really well. <br /> <br />VII. Adjournment <br /> <br />Motion by Hicks, seconded by Bank to adjourn the meeting at 8:02 p.m. Motion carried 9-0. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
