Traffic Stop Data Annual Review and Updates – Tony Paetznick, Public Safety
Director

Director Paetznick stated it is time for the Public Safety Commission’s annual review of
traffic stop data from the previous year. He reviewed a comparative chart from the six
consecutive years of the agency’s traffic stop data collection initiative (2017-2022), followed
by two-years of specific data showing comparisons of both the reason for the traffic stops
and searches of vehicles & persons contrasted by the categories of race. Besides charts, there
is a variety of graphs showing the data as well. For reporting consistency, the traffic stop
outcome information that was added following conversations on this topic in 2020 is again
provided.
