<br />New Brighton Energy Action Plan 4 <br /> <br /> <br />Energy Use and Savings <br />Premises <br />Xcel Energy provides electricity and natural gas to New Brighton residents and businesses. In 2021, New <br />Brighton consisted of 11,317 distinct utility premises, which are a unique combination of service address <br />and meter. For residential customers, this is the equivalent of an individual house or dwelling unit in a <br />multi-tenant building. For business customers, it is an individual business, or for a larger business, a <br />separately metered portion of the business’ load at that address.2 <br />Most New Brighton <br />premises are residential, <br />with a small number of <br />commercial and industrial <br />premises and a smaller <br />portion of municipal <br />premises rounding out the <br />total (Figure 2). <br />Grid Energy Use <br />On average, the New <br />Brighton community <br />consumes 180 million kWh <br />of electricity and 12 million <br />therms of natural gas <br />across all sectors per year.
