<br />New Brighton Energy Action Plan 20 <br />Strategy 2: Promote home energy assessments and energy advisor services to connect <br />residents with programs suited to their household needs <br />Supporting New Brighton’s residents in receiving home energy assessments helps them understand <br />their household’s unique energy needs and identify potential ways to save energy. Energy advisor <br />services can help residents prioritize and complete efficiency projects and take advantage of financial <br />resources. <br /> <br />Desired Outcomes: <br />Increased understanding of energy use among audiences and a list of energy savings opportunities to <br />use in recommended projects. Connecting residents to federal and state funding and utility rebates. <br /> <br />Actions: <br />2a Implement a full cost buy-down for Home Energy <br />Squad visits for residents <br />The City and Partners in Energy will lead <br />this effort by leveraging available City <br />resources and federal and state funding <br />options <br />2b <br />Focus outreach efforts on energy burdened <br />households, older homes and manufactured home <br />parks <br />The City and Partners in Energy will guide <br />partnerships with school district, student <br />climate teams and community education <br />to help those partners continue the effort <br />and lead ongoing efforts <br />Timeline: Near-term (1–6 Months) <br /> <br />Other considerations/partnerships/funding opportunities for this strategy: <br />Potential partners include the Minnesota Housing and Finance Agency, Home Energy Squad and <br />Senior Family Housing. Possible outreach channels include the Active Life Newsletter and tabling at <br />farmers markets. <br />
