<br />Total energy consumption during the baseline period varied in each sector consistent with variation in
<br />weather. Hotter summers (those with more cooling degree days) and colder winters (those with more
<br />heating degree days) had higher energy consumption. New Brighton’s natural gas consumption
<br />decreased during the baseline period by roughly 12%. This correlates with the decrease in heating
<br />degree days each successive year.

<br />Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Trends
<br />New Brighton’s overall greenhouse gas (GREENHOUSE GAS) emissions decreased from 2019–2020 and
<br />grew slightly from 2020–2021.
