Parking Structure Design under MU district provided good base for inclusion into main <br />parking requirements. (Goal 2) <br />Sec. 11-030 Minimum Number of Off Street Parking Spaces Required <br />1. Shifts to “Computing Requirements” based on changing parking ratios. (Goal 1, 2, 3, 8) <br />2. Amend “Handicap Parking” into “Accessible Parking” and show standards for location and <br />amount based on adopted Federal and State guides and rules. <br />a. Recommended by Traffic Engineer expert. (Goal 8) <br />3. New ratios under “Number of Spaces Required” and allowance for uses to submit a parking <br />study if requesting different parking amounts. (Goal 1, 2, 3) <br />a. Proposed ratios use a combination of data: <br />i. ITE = Institute of Transportation Engineers; book published specifically for <br />providing parking ratios based on observation and data analysis. <br />ii. ULI = Urban Land Institute; several books published discussing shared and <br />dedicated parking ratios. <br />iii. Cities in Metro (Edina, Burnsville, Minneapolis, etc.) <br />iv. Previously approved projects in New Brighton and Metro (Dominium, North <br />Shore Development, Pulte Townhomes, The View) <br />v. Existing New Brighton parking and MU codes
