PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS <br /> <br />Department: Public Works <br /> <br />Item: SCADA replacement <br /> <br />Year(s): 2026 <br /> <br />Cost: $150,000 <br /> <br />Description: <br />Upgrade the Sanitary Sewer SCADA system. Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition <br />(SCADA) systems are used for controlling, monitoring, and analyzing industrial devices <br />and processes. The system consists of both software and hardware components and <br />enables remote and on-site gathering of data from the industrial equipment. <br /> <br />Justification: The existing equipment including remote site radios, software, and control <br />panels have reached the end of their useful life. Proper emergency communication from <br />the Lift Stations to our maintenance staff are critical to address minor issues up to pump <br />failures which could result in sewer back-up causing extensive damage. Replacement <br />will include a Maintenance Building Lift Station RTU Panel and Radio Upgrades – All <br />radios on the wastewater network will be upgraded to a well-supported and readily <br />available model. Two lift stations (7 and 8) are due for antenna, cable, and surge <br />protector replacement and those are included as well. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />34
