The City Council must summarize its conclusions for <br /> nthe public during a public meeting. Per City Manager Massopust's Employment Agreement, a <br /> salary increase will take effect based on the City's pay schedule pending a satisfactory <br /> performance review. <br /> 2. Consider a Resolution Adopting of a Fair Housing Policy. 2.Consider a Resolution <br /> Adopting of a Fair Housing <br /> Policy. <br /> City Manager Massopust indicated Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola would <br /> be presenting this item to the Council. <br /> Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola stated the proposed Fair Housing <br /> Policy is intended to further the City's housing goals by enshrining much of what the City <br /> already does into a formal policy. The policy outlines how the City will handle and address <br /> housing complaints moving forward, how the City will provide meaningful access to housing <br /> information to current and prospective residents and identifies various actions the City plans to <br /> take to promote awareness and sensitivity to fair housing issues in the community. Staff <br /> commented further on the Fair Housing Policy and recommended approval. <br /> Councilmember Abdulle thanked staff for all of their efforts on this policy. <br /> Councilmember Axberg asked if the City would be taking on any extra administrative burden <br /> costs. Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola stated he did not believe the City <br /> would be taking on any extra costs.He reported this policy would better define what the City already does.He <br /> explained this policy was a springboard to make sure the City was doing even more in terms of providing <br /> information to the public. <br /> Councilmember Axberg questioned what has the City looking at the home loan program versus letting other <br /> organizations take the lead.City Manager Massopust explained the State legislature put a metro area sales tax <br /> in place and the City would be receiving dollars this year to assist with housing.In addition,the City would <br /> have housing dollars from the Exchange Apartments development He indicated the proposed home loan <br /> program could be funded by the City fora third party to administer. <br /> Councilmember Axberg requested additional information regarding the remedy language.Assistant Director <br /> of Community Assets and Development Gozola discussed the remedy language in further detail with the <br /> Council. <br /> Councilmember Allen stated he appreciated how this loan program would provide the City another tool in the <br /> toolbox for people in need of housing. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Abdulle,seconded by Councilmember Allen to approve the Fair Housing <br /> Policy as presented. <br /> 4 Ayes,0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> Commission Liaison Reports,Announcements and Updates Commission Liaison <br /> Reports, <br /> Announcements and <br /> Devin Massopust Updates <br /> City Manager Massopust encouraged resident to visit Brave the BRRR at Brightwood Golf <br /> Course this weekend. <br /> nGraeme Allen <br /> Councilmember Allen stated he was looking forward to attending Brave the BRRR this <br /> weekend. He explained the Planning Commission did not meet in January and would be <br /> meeting next on Tuesday, February 20 at 6:30 p.m. <br />
