Consideration of authorization of legal services. Report No. 06-039 <br />(This item was tabled at the January 10th City Council meeting.) <br /> <br />Matt Fulton-City Manager explained that because Conncil Member Burg was <br />absent for the prior cormcil meeting, this item was tabled in order for her to be <br />involved in the discussion. <br /> <br />Conncil Member Hoffman offered a recap of what was discussed previously. <br /> <br />r. Fulton explained that there is a vartety onegal services provided to the City by <br />__ number of legal firms. <br /> <br />Mayor Larson requested a specific breakdown of costs for services. <br /> <br />Conncll Member Burg stated it would be beneficial to look at all services utilized by <br />the City, perhaps on an armual basis. She further clarified that her concerns were <br />focused on simply making sure that the City receive the best contracted services at <br />the most competitive rates possible. <br /> <br />Conncll Member Hoffman suggested looking closely at legal services over the next <br />year, and getting a policy in place for the 2007 Budget process. <br /> <br />Motion by Conncil Member Hoffman, seconded by Conncil Member Burg to waive <br />the reading and adopt the resolution authorizing 2006 fees for legal services and <br />instruct staff to develop guidelines and to draft suggested proposals for City <br />Council to review for RFPs for 2007, <br /> <br />5 Ayes-O Nays Motion Carried <br /> <br /> <br />I. Consideration of Amending City Code Chapter 2, restricting Municipal <br />Advisory Commission Members from becoming engaged in City contracts. <br />Report No. 06-040.
