<br />NEW BRIGHTON PARKS, RECREATION, AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />FEBRUARY 1, 2006 <br />(Minutes in their entirety are kept on audio CD in the Parks and Recreation Office) <br /> <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Jane Braun <br /> <br />II. Members oresent: Jane Braun, Mark Barton, Scott Budzynski, Jeanne <br />Frischman, Tom Fuller, Ed Greacen, Don Heinrich, Kate Knuth, Tom Trevorrow <br />Staff oresent: Steve Rymer, Director of Parks and Recreation; Brad Martens, <br />Recreation Supervisor; Jason West, Assistant Parks and Recreation Director; <br />Jodelle Olson, Office Assistant <br />Also oresent: Greg Ingraham of Ingraham and Associates <br />Members absent: Council Rep Ann Hoffman <br /> <br />III. Minutes of January 4, 2006 <br /> <br />MOTION BY SCOTT BUDZYNSKI, SECONDED BY DON HEINRICH, TO <br />APPROVE THE MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED. <br /> <br />Ed Greacen inquired about the process of PREC recommendations getting to <br />the Council. Last month a recommendation was made by the PREC that the <br />Council consider public art in the Northwest Quadrant development. Greacen <br />indicated his concern about communication between the PREC and the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />IV. Correspondence <br /> <br />A. Council Report <br />Steve stated that Ann Hoffman was out of town on business. The mayor <br />was planning to attend, however, the Totem Pole neighborhood meeting <br />was scheduled the same evening and he felt he needed to be there. <br /> <br />V. Public Hearing <br /> <br />A. None scheduled <br /> <br />VI. New Business <br /> <br />A. 2006 Chairperson Election <br /> <br />Steve stated the Commission needed to appoint a 2006 Chairperson. <br />MOTION BY SCOTT BUDZYNSKI, SECONDED BY JANE BRAUN, TO <br />APPOINT DON HEINRICH AS THE 2006 CHAIRPERSON. MOTION <br />CARRIED. <br /> <br />Steve stated that Doreen Praschak had moved out of New Brighton and a <br />new commissioner has been appointed. Kate Knuth was introduced and <br />welcomed to the Commission. <br />
