The City Council has considered and <br />approved renewals every three years since that time. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />None. This action simply entitiles the City to remain eligible to participate in the allocation of <br />funds through established grant processes. <br /> <br />Explanation: <br /> <br />New Brighton and Ramsey County have signed joint powers agreements since I985 for the <br />purposes of allocating Community Development Block Grant funds. In the joint powers <br />agreement, Ramsey County HRA assumed the responsibility to receive and distribute <br />Community Development Block Grant and HOME funds. . The US Department of Housing and <br />Urban Development has requested all communities desiring to continue participating with <br />Ramsey County for the Allocation of CDBG funds to approve a new agreement which is <br />attached.
