<br />- .... <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92- 029 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING A VARIANCE FROM STATE AID RULES TO USE MSA <br />FUNDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A SIDEWALK ON COUNTY ROAD H BETWEEN LONG <br />LAKE ROAD AND EDGEWOOD DRIVE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the City of New Brighton desires to construct a public sidewalk on County <br />Road H between Long Lake Road and Edgewood Drive using Municipal State Aid funds; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. Section 882D.3100 subparagraph 7 of State Aid Operations requires that the <br />in-place street meet State Aid standards before Municipal State Aid funding can be used for <br />sidewalks; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the following facts and findings are found to exist: <br /> <br />I. Ramsey County does not expect to reconstruct this section of County Road H for <br />several years. <br />2. This section of County Road H has an existing average daily traffic volume of 7.350. <br />3. Children walk to Sunnyside Elementary School. Edgewood Middle School. and <br />Irondale High School from surrounding residential areas along this stretch of roadway <br />and a sidewalk is needed for pedestrian safety. <br />4. The sidewalk will be placed in a location that will match future reconstruction of <br />County Road H thereby eliminating future relocation costs. <br />5. A petition representing 75 percent of the residents along this section of County Road <br />H was received in support of the sidewalk. <br /> <br />NOW. THEREFORE.
