<br />I' <br /> <br />'~, "~. <br /> <br />-, <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO 92-021 <br /> <br />state of Minnesota <br />County of Ramsey <br />City of New Brighton <br /> <br />Resolution Establishing Polling Places for the 1992 <br />Presidential Primary <br /> <br />Whereas, the state of Minnesota has established April 7, 1992 as <br />the date for a statewide presidential primary; and <br />Whereas, the city of New Brighton will incur expense for said <br />.. presidential primary through the local administration of that <br />election; and <br />Whereas, the city of New Brighton seeks to minimize the costs of <br />the mandated presidential primary election without causing <br />I <br />excessive confusion or inconvenience to the voters; and I <br />Whereas, in recognizing this concern the legislature is consideringi <br />legislation which would enable the City of New Brighton to operate <br />the election with a reduced number of polling places; <br /> <br />Now therefore be it resolved, that in the event that such' <br />legislation allowing the city to reduce the number of polling <br />places is passed and there remains a reasonable amount of time <br />prior to the election to inform the voters, the City Council of the <br />City of New Brighton hereby authorizes the reduction of the number I <br />i! of polling places in the city from the current level of six down to <br />,r not less than two locations, and that one of said locations be <br />I north of 1-694 and the other be south of 1-694. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />., Attest: <br /> <br />Be it further resolved that in the event of such legislative change <br />and the subsequent implementation of this resolution, that staff be <br />" directed to take all reasonable efforts to fully inform the voters <br />of this change in an effort to assure a good voter turnout and tOI <br />minimize voter confusion regarding their polling location. <br /> <br />: Be it further resolved that this resolution shall be in effect fori <br />the 1992 presidential primary only.
