<br />t. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-105 <br /> <br />h <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AGREEING TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PLANNING PROCESS TO <br />ENSURE THE ECONOMIC HEALTH OF RAMSEY COUNTY AND THE GREATER <br />METRO EAST AREA <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the economic vitality of all areas within Ramsey County is essential to <br />the long term viability and success of the County as a whole; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, to insure the economic health of Ramsey County, the Ramsey County <br />muniCipalities and the Metro East area, it is essential to cooperate, coordinate and <br />avoid duplication in order to assure the common interests of all concerned; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Cities have primarily focused on economic development activities within <br />each of their own communities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there is also a need to look beyond municipal and County boundaries <br />for cooperative economic development solutions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County is fully developed, compact in size, and limited in public <br />resources; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, cooperation is one key to becoming more effective in our economic <br />development efforts; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Staff Representatives of the cities of Arden Hills, Falcon Heights, <br />Maplewood, Mounds View, New Brighton, North St. Paul, Roseville, St. Paul, <br />Shoreview, Vadnais Heights, White Bear Lake, and White Bear Town, and Ramsey <br />County, the Suburban Chamber of Commerce, and the Metro East Development <br />Partnership have been meeting to discuss issues of common interest related to <br />economic development in Ramsey County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these meetings have led to a dialogue which may result in the <br />development of goals and priorities for economic development in Ramsey County; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Staff Representatives wish to secure the support and active <br />involvement of the elected officials; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the planning process is designed to guide the economic development <br />efforts in the mutual best interests of the County as a whole and member Cities <br />while not limiting local choices. <br /> <br />t ~ <br />I <br /> <br />i <br />
