<br />~ <br /> <br />.,. <br /> <br />(. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-0711- <br /> <br />5T A TE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT APPROVING DESIGNATION OF THE BRIGHTON VILLAGE <br />SHOPPING CENTER PAD SITE (CHAMPP'S/NEW BRIGHTON LIQUORS FACILITY) AS AN AREA OF <br />SPECIAL CONTROL AND APPROVING SPECIAL USE. PERMIT, SP-165. <br /> <br />! i WHEREAS, an application for SP.165 has been made by Kraus Anderson to amend the <br />Brighton Village Shopping Center Sign Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the procedural history of the application is as follows: <br /> <br />1. An application for a Special Use Permit, SP-165, was filed with the City of New Brighton <br />on June 28, 1991. <br />2. The Planning Commission, pursuant to published and mailed notices, held a public hearing <br />on July 16, 1991, and all persons present at the hearing were given an opportunity to be <br />heard. <br />3. The City Council considered an application for SP.165 at its July 23, 1991 meeting. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Council makes the following Findings of Fact in <br />respect to SP-165: <br /> <br />1. On February 26, 1973, the City Council approved the resolutions declaring Brighton <br />Village Shopping Center to be an Area of Special Control for purposes of sign regulation <br />and the Special Use Permit for a sign plan for the shopping center. <br />2. The Brighton Village Shopping Center and pad site IChampp's/New Brighton Liquors <br />facility) is a shopping center within the meaning of the term as defined in Section 9-150 <br />a.2.; and <br />3, The New Brighton Zoning Ordinance states that shopping centers may be designated as <br />areas of special control for purposes of sign regulation, and Resolution No. 91-6 <br />designates the pad site as an area of special control; and <br />4. The New Brighton Zoning Ordinance states that in areas of special control, the City <br />Council may establish special sign regulations by special use permit; and <br />5. In 1990, the pad site was purchased from the City by Kraus Anderson. <br />6. The applicant has proposed a new sign plan for the Brighton Village Shopping Center and <br />pad site which would allow for the signage on both facilities to be coordinated and <br />complimentary. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the area of special control is hereby approved for expansion <br />and the application SP-165 is hereby approved and the attached text is hereby approved for adoption <br />as the sign plan for the Brighton Village Shopping Center and pad site. <br /> <br />: .AOopt-adJhis 23rd day of July, 1991. <br />....'~ .0' <br />+, <br /> <br />- " <br />.- ~,' j <br />,~I <br /> <br />~ <br />~~ ml~,~ <br /> <br />David M.
