July 12, 2005 City Council approved a five year lease with the Family Academy Charter
School for exclusive use of 11,221 square feet of Family Service Center space.
. January 10, 2006 City Council approved Family Academy Charter School to increase
their space by 3,349 square feet.
. April 4, 2006 City Council held a workshop regarding Family Academy's financial
position and the possibility of returning one room (880 square feet) to the Family Service
Center.

.

Financial Impact: Family Academy Charter School will defer partial payments from March
2006 - August 2006 with the understanding of a repayment schedule within one year (September
2006 - August 2007).

Explanation: With the financial situation of Family Academy Charter School, it would be in the
best interest of the City of New Brighton to allow Family Academy to defer partial payments for
six months with the understanding of repaying the deferred cost within one year after the six
month deferment period.

Costs and Funding: None

'-_._..,._--~ ~

C"'-~~__..--:::J ~- _.

Jason T.
