<br />I' <br />, <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />~I <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />90-34 <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />, <br />i: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION URGING THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />TO EXERCISE THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT BY VOTING ON THE <br />RAMSEY COUNTY CHARTER ISSUE AT THE NOVEMBER 6, 1990 GENERAL <br />ELECTION. <br /> <br />!( <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Charter Commission was created <br />by the Legislature and its members appointed by the Judiciary <br />for the purpose of writing the first Home Rule Charter in the <br />State of Minnesota; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after extensive research, hearings and drafting, <br />the Ramsey County Charter Commission has completed this his- <br />toric constitutional document for the people of Ramsey <br />County; and <br /> <br />:, <br />II <br />I <br /> <br />i'i <br /> <br />WHEREAS, representatives of the City of New Brighton have <br />worked with the Ramsey County Charter Commission during the <br />past two years in developing this Charter; and <br /> <br />; ~ <br />I' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this constitutional document seeks to enhance the <br />visibility, accessibili ty, flexibili ty, efficiency, and <br />responsiveness of county government. <br /> <br />II <br />'I <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the New Brighton City <br />council urges all citizens of Ramsey County to become in- <br />formed about the proposed Ramsey County Home Rule Charter. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of the New <br />Brighton City Council urge citizens of New Brighton to go to <br />the polls and exercise their constitutional right to be part <br />of their governing process by voting on this issue in the <br />November 6, 1990 general election. <br /> <br />:i <br /> <br />Adopted this <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />, 1990. <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br /> <br />R~ <br />-1 I mlCWJD <br /> <br />David Childs, City Manager <br /> <br />" AT'];'EST:' <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- "~<nvn/ <br />Mcirgaren-:-Egan <br />:Fin~~ce~Director/City Clerk <br /> <br />I, <br />" <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br />
