<br />Page 3 - May 09. 2006 New Brighton Council Minutes <br /> <br />I' Black indicated that there is an interested party in Site I; additionally there is <br />existing agreement with Site I with Sherman Associates. <br />erman Associates has not expressed an interest in the site, and may be willing to <br />exchange Site I for another site. <br />Council Member Doffmg asked where the City would advertise for the RFQ's. <br />Mr. Black stated The Minnesota Real Estate Journal would be his <br />recorrunendation. <br />Council Member Doffing encouraged advertising nationally as well. <br />Council Member Bauman agreed. <br />Mr. Black outlined the timeline, resulting in approving a developer in September, <br />followed by Developer Agreement in place in Spring of 2007. <br />Council Members agreed this project is very important, and this site has very <br />substantial potential. <br />Conncil Member Doffing requested some leeway with the timeframe presented. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Hoffman, seconded by Council Member Bauman to <br />approve the Request for Qualifications and authorize staff to solicit interest within <br />the Twin Cities development community. <br /> <br />I Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> <br />2. Consideration of Bids and Award of Contract for Project 06-1, <br />Northwest Quadrant - Phase I, Utilities, Streets, Streetscape, and <br />Street Lighting. Report No, 06-105. Resolution No. 06-038. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works, Grant Wyffels gave a brief summary of bids received. Also <br />reporting that paving is scheduled to be complete by November 1,2006. <br />Council member Doffing inquired about the possibility of the contractor's ability to <br />implement traffic calming effort. <br />Mr. Wyffels stated that the plans did incorporate various traffic calming efforts. <br />Council Member Hoffman questioned the process for Old Highway 8. <br />Ms. Troha stated that in the consent agenda approval was made for RFP's for the design of <br />Old Highway 8. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Hoffman, seconded by Council Member Burg to accept <br />Ie bids and adopt the attached resolution awarding a contract for project 06:"1, <br />orthwest Quadrant - Phase 1 Utilities, Streets, Streetscapes, and Street Lighting to <br />he low bidder Northdale Construction Company, Inc. in the amount of <br />1,453,125.10. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> <br />ouocH Business <br />1.
