<br />Page 3 - 2003, New Brighton Council Minutes <br /> <br />3) To consider a Special Use Permit application for building and project site signs for the Main <br />I~treet Village project, a ten~acre site generally located north of County Road E2 Extension and <br />est of 5th Avenue NW. <br />fhe Applicant received a Special Use Permit approval May 22,2001. At that time, the Council <br />approved the Special Use with the condition that "any future change to the plan shall be submitted <br />under special use permit procedure and when adopted shall become part of that Plan" (Resolution <br />01~044). <br /> <br />Pratt Ordway Properties wishes to alter the approved Sign Plan for the Main Street Village Project <br />and therefore a Public Hearing is required. <br /> <br />Motion by Moore-Sykes, seconded by Hoffman, WAIVING THE READING AND <br />ADOPTING RESOLUTION NO. 03-011 APPROVING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO <br />AMEND THE COMPREHENSIVE SIGN PLAN FOR MAIN STREET VILLAGE, SP03-02 <br />WITH THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: <br />1. The planned unit development for Main Street Village and Main Street Village 2nd is amended <br />to conform to this resolution and the Declaration of Covenants to assure that the use and <br />development of the properties in Main Street Village and Main Street ViII age Second Addition <br />conform to the approved planned unit development shall be amended accordingly and executed by <br />the owners of such properties. <br />5 Ayes- 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> <br />4) Motion by Sweeley, seconded by Howard, APPROVING THE PARKS AND <br />RECREATION DEPARTMENT REORGANIZATION. <br />I' Ayes- 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> <br /> <br />5) Acquisition of property atl19 14TH Street NW. <br />The redevelopment of the NW Quadrant will require the acquisition of all of the properties in the <br />area. It is in the City's interest to purchase properties from willing sellers at the time they are <br />made available. <br /> <br />Motion by Howard, seconded by Hoffman, WAIVING THE READING AND ADOPTING <br />RESOLUTION NO. 03-012 APPROVING THE PROPOSED TERMS FOR THE <br />ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY AT 119 14TH STREET NW. <br />5 Ayes- 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br />Bob Strakota, Menge lkoch attorney spoke in support of this sale and is continuing cooperation. <br /> <br />6) This issuc pertains to the purchase of property located at 389 Old Highway 8 NW. The <br />property is located in an area that was identified as one of several target areas in the 1997 <br />community planning study for the Old Highway 8 Corridor. The City's resources are currently <br />committed to other projects, but this area will be addressed in the near future, starting with a <br />detailed planning study that was included in the City's budget for 2003. This property could be <br />assembled into a larger area for redevelopment at some time in the future. <br /> <br />Motion by Hoffman, seconded by Moore-Sykes, WAIVING THE READING AND <br />ADOPTING RESOLUTION NO. 03-013 APPROVING THE PURCHASE AGREEMENT <br />.1 FOR THE A. CQUISITION OF PROPERTY AT 389 OLD HWY 8 NW. <br />Ayes- 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> <br /> <br />7) City and the Developer have agreed to a Declaration of Covenants for Lot I, Block 1, Main <br />Street ViII age 2nd. The northern most portion is planned to contain the residential component. <br />The related Covenant to this area was signed by the Mayor and City Manager on September 26, <br />2002.
