<br />To the Mayor, City Council, Economic Development and Planning Committees of the
<br />City of New Brighton, Minnesota:

<br />We the undersigned registered voters of the City of New Brighton are opposed
<br />to a hotel or motel on the Brighton Village site.
<br />The Brighton Village site lies 1 1/2 blocks from the Pike Lake Elementary School
<br />grounds and Freedom Park to the north and 1 1/2 blocks from Highview Middle School
<br />grounds on the south. A hotel or motel intending to draw clientele from it's visibility and
<br />proximity to Interstate 694, we believe, would compromise the safety of the children in
<br />our community and therefore does not belong near a residential area.
<br />We expect the Mayor, the City Council, the Economic Development Committee
<br />and the City Planning Committee to exercise due diligence in evaluating any proposal
<br />for development on this site, including thorough study and consideration of the
<br />community, infrastructure and environmental impact.
