<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Page 2 <br />Council Meeting Minutes - September 25, 2001 <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Consideration of a site plan review and special use permit to construct an addition onto the <br />Sunnyside Elementary School at 2070 West County Road H. Eight classrooms are <br />proposed for the west side of the building, and a separate room to house a chiller unit. The <br />proposal would comply with the standards of the R-l District, Parking Ordinance, and <br />Special Use Permit, and staff recommends approval of the project. <br /> <br />Motion by Samuelson, seconded by Moore-Sykes, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />ADOPT THE RESOLUTION APPROVING SPOl-13 AND LPOl-12 SUBJECT TO <br />THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: <br />1. APPROVAL OF A FINAL GRADING AND DRAINAGE PLAN BY THE <br />CITY ENGINEER. <br />2. APPROV AL BY RICE CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT. <br />3. ADEQUATE PROTECTION OF TREES NEAR THE CONSTRUCTION <br />STAGING AREA IS PROVIDED FOR AS INSTRUCTED BY THE CITY <br />FORESTER. TREES NOT SURVIVING CONSTRUCTION PHASE SHALL <br />BE REPLACED ON A ONE-TO-ONE BASIS. <br />4. APPROVAL AND CONTINUING COMPLIANCE WITH THE TERMS AND <br />CONDITIONS OF SPOl-13. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Sunnyside School <br />Addition <br />Report 01-203 <br />Resolution 01-077 <br /> <br />Proper presented a discussion topic relating to surface grinding of a two mile stretch along 1-694 Surfacing <br />the New Brighton portion ofI-694 to reduce traffic noise. The residents on Torchwood Dr. <br />request this consideration as a way to reduce noise being there are no sound walls along this <br />stretch. Funding for this project would mostly come from the gas tax and Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation proceeds, and no City funding would be needed.
