Box 5233 <br />Hopkins, Minnesota 55343 <br />(952) 238-1121 <br /> <br />June 10, 2001 <br /> <br />Mr. Steve Larson <br />Mayor <br />City of New Brighton <br /> <br />Mr. Matt Fulton <br />City Manager <br />City of New Brighton <br /> <br />On behalf of the residents of Innsbruck Estates Homeowners Association, I <br />respectfully request New Brighton to correct a serious water drainage problem that <br />exists for some of our residents. The correction of this problem would require the <br />installation of two catch basins. <br /> <br />The adjacent Innsbruck Park Association has constructed two large and unsightly <br />concrete water chutes to carry water from two street spurs off Pecks Wood Drive. <br />(see picture 1). This has resulted in water drainage problem on the south side of <br />Linden Drive, specifically in the back yards of the Innsbruck Estates Association. <br />(see picture 2) <br /> <br />Picture number 3 details concern. Innsbruck Estates Homeowners on the right side of <br />the picture and the Innsbruck Park Homeowners on the left. During rain storms, water <br />cascades down from the concrete chutes into the backyards of the Innsbruck Estates <br />townhomes, creating standing water and soggy, muddy backyards. (see picture 4) The <br />flow of the water carries with it debris from the street resulting in additional "mess". <br />(see picture 5). <br /> <br />Information relative to this request: <br /> <br />* The concrete water chutes were constructed without obtaining a City of New <br />Brighton building permit. <br /> <br />* A fifteen-inch City of New Brighton drainage pipe is located directly below the <br />current concrete water chutes. <br /> <br />* Most residents in the Innsbruck Estates Townhomes are retired and are <br />
