<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to noticc thereof, a regular meeting ofthe New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, September 11,2000, <br />at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Old Highway 8 NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Larson, Councilmembers Gunderman, Hoffman, Moore-Sykes, and Samuelson. <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Margaret Egan, Finance Director <br />Matthew Fulton, City Manager <br />Robert Jacobson, Police Chief <br /> <br />Council Al!enda <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, scconded by Samuelson, to APPROVE COUNCIL AGENDA. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Council Minutcs <br /> <br />Motion by Hoffman, seconded by Samuelson, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />APPROVE THE AUGUST 22, 2000, COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Larson, with Council consent, received the minutes of the Public Safety <br />Commission ~ May 31, 2000. <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />Officer Kathy McNeely and Sergeant Mary Bitzan-Hieb, New Brighton Explorer Post <br />advisors, introduced members Zak Chlebeck, Collecn Stack, Jontue Howard, and Tony <br />Foerester. The Post consists of men and women ages 14 to 21 who volunteer for special <br />events and train in special police skills in preparation for careers as police officers. This <br />year our Explorer Post competed in a national competition and earned first place in <br />Hostage Negotiations. The members were congratulated for their outstanding efforts. <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Larson requested Report 00-211, Rosewood Court Petition, be moved to Council Business. <br /> <br />Motion by 110ffman, seconded by Moore-Sykes, to APPROVE THE CONSENT <br />AGENDA ITEMS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />CONSOLIDATED VOUCHERS: 090106-090343 FOR A GRAND TOTAL <br />OF $858,836.55. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL TO ISSUE A PERSONAL SERVICE <br />LICENSE FOR THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE TO VALERIE LAWSON, <br />VALID UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2000. <br /> <br />Council Agenda <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Special Order of <br />Business <br /> <br />Explorer A ward <br />Report 00-202 <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Vouchers <br />Report 00-203 <br /> <br />Therapeutic Massage <br />Report 00-204 <br />
