<br />'! <br /> <br />. r <br /> <br />J <br />~. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89-108 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING GRANT APPLICATION FOR SILVER LAKE <br />STUDY. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there has been considerable degradation of water quality <br />in Silver Lake in recent years from stormwater runoff; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton recognizes the need to save <br />lakes from water quality degradation; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, approximately 100 acres of land in New Brighton is <br />tributary to Silver Lake; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Rice Creek Watershed District has passed a resolution <br />indicating that any future corrective work would be by Agreement of all <br />parties involved; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Rice Creek Watershed District is submitting an application <br />for a grant under the Clean Water Partnership Act Program to study what <br />is happening in Silver Lake and what can be done to correct or reverse <br />the process; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is proposed that each party involved with Silver Lake <br />pay a proportionate share of the matching funds for the grant; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the <br />City of New Brighton does support the proposed study of Silver Lake and <br />agrees to a proportionate share of the study cost not to exceed $6,000; <br />and furthermore, urges the Metropolitan Council to approve the grant <br />application under the Clean Water Partnership Act Program to fund the <br />study; <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the involved parties negotiate a Joint <br />Powers Agreement to design and administer the study and select a <br />consultant. <br /> <br />Adopted this 22nd day of August, 1989. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />~0;, <br />~~e ~~~ect9r / City Clerk <br />{S~AL) <br /> <br />~,~,... <br /> <br />~. <br /> <br />:\ !AJJ.lQ tn.
