This was the fIrst time the event was ever <br />hel e he we er held off Rice Creek Watershed District, Highview Middle <br />School Jazz Band, Cub Food donations were on site. The event took place on <br />April 22nd at Hansen Park. Also there was a community walk. Sixty trees were <br />planted by scout groups and individuals. One tree was dedicated. The Mayor took <br />part in the ribbon cutting. Several Commission members were there. Kate stated it <br />was a very well done by staff with planning and promotion of it. <br />Summer Recreation Programs <br />Here is a quick overview of summer programs. Tots and Tykes, June 19-August <br />II for 3-6 yr olds. Fun and Sun has the same dates for 7-12 year olds. This is part <br />of what is in the Strategic Plan and how our youth are being mentored. Served <br />394 youth last year at five sites; Sunny Square Freedom, Driftwood, Hansen, and <br />Totem Pole. <br /> <br />A. <br />
