<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, June 13,2000, at 7:30 <br />p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Old Highway 8 NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Larson, Councihnembers Gunderman, Hoffman, Moore-Sykes, and Samuelson. <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Maurie Anderson, Park and Recreation Director <br />Matthew Fulton, City Manager <br />Kevin Locke, Community Development Director <br />Les Proper, City Engineer <br /> <br />Council Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Moore-Sykes, to APPROVE THE COUNCIL <br />AGENDA. <br /> <br />S Ayes M 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Hoffman, seconded by Samuelson, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />APPROVE THE MAY 23, 2000, COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES. <br /> <br />S Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Larson, with Council consent, received the minutes ofthe Parks, Recreation and <br />Environmental Commission Minutes - January 5, 2000, February 2, 2000, and March 1, <br />2000; and Public Safety Commission - April 26, 2000. <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />Retiring New Brighton Firefighters Mark Clark and Gary Kraus were recognized for their <br />27 and 14 years, respectively, of val iant service to the City. <br /> <br />State Representative Barb Haake has enjoyed serving the residents of her district, and <br />announced she will not be seeking reelection. Haake summarized the recent session which <br />involved contributions to education and transportation, and tax cuts and rebates. <br /> <br />Elizabeth Cornelius, Silver Crest Properties, presented a $10,000 donation which will <br />allow construction of a larger gazebo at Meadowood Park.
