<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at 7:30 <br />p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Old Highway 8 NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Larson, Councilmembers Gunderman, Hoffman, Moore-Sykes, and Samuelson. <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Maurie Anderson, Park and Recreation Director <br />Matthew Fulton, City Manager <br />Bob Jacobson, Police Chief <br />Brian Olson, Civil Engineer <br />Les Proper, City Engineer <br />Rick Wriskey, City Forester <br /> <br />Council Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Samuelson, to APPROVE THE COUNCIL <br />AGENDA. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Hoffman, seconded by Samuelson, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />APPROVE THE MARCH 28, 2000, COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES. <br /> <br />5 Ayes ~ 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes - None <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />City Forester Rick Wriskey explained that the Forestry Board is an ad-hoc committee of <br />seven residents that assist in various forestry and environmental projects in the City's parks <br />and public lands. These citizens have planted hundreds of trees and perennials, assisted <br />storm cleanup projects, Christmas Tree recycling, and other projects. Through all of this, <br />they have kept a low and humble profile, but have made a big difference in how the City <br />looks. Council recognized the following Forestry Board members: Steve Bratkovich, John <br />Abel, Dave Eichers, Charlie Blinn, Tom Trevorrow, Chris Stafford, and Pat Van Cleave. <br /> <br />Larson noted that New Brighton was recently honored by Tree City USA for being a Tree <br />City for 18th consecutive years. This honor represents all the efforts performed by the <br />Forestry Board and W riskey. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Hoffman, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />ADOPT THE RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A $20.00 DONATION FROM MR. AND <br />MRS.
