<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, October 26, 1999, at <br />7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Old Highway 8 NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, Councilmembers Gunderman, Hoffman, Larson, and Samuelson. <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Matthew Fulton, City Manager <br />Judy Goepel, Marketing/Events Coordinator <br />Barb Grimshaw, Councilmember of the Month <br />Les Proper, City Engineer <br /> <br />Council Agenda <br /> <br />Benke added an item under the Special Order of Business agenda, Receipt of Petition for <br />"No Parking" signs on Poppyseed. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Larson, to APPROVE THE AMENDED COUNCIL <br />AGENDA. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Naycs, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Larson, seconded by Samuelson, to WAIVE THE READING AND APPROVE <br />THE OCTOBER 12, 1999, COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, with Council consent, received the minutes ofthe Communications Advisory <br />Commission - September 9, 1999; Park, Recreation, and Environmental Commission - <br />August 4, ] 999; Planning Commission - September 21, ] 999; Public Safety Commission - <br />June 30, 1999. <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Hoffman, to WAIVE THE READING AND ADOPT <br />THE RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A $100.00 DONATION FROM JEAN S. <br />TURCOTTE TO BE USED FOR FORESTRY PURPOSES. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Marketing and Events Coordinator Judy Goepel explained that in 1997, the Antique Car Run <br />and Stockyard Days committees purchased street banners to be hung in Olde Town during <br />festival week. The City received many calls as the banners being a great compliment to the <br />renovation of Old Highway 8.
