<br />I <br /> <br />September 21, 1999 <br /> <br />-' <br /> <br />New Brighton City Council <br />New Brighton, MN 55112 <br /> <br />Greetings, <br />After attending the Planning Commission meeting tonight, I'm compelled to write this <br />letter regarding the "park plan" included in the Comprehensive Plan. It is my belief that <br />at least one recommendation in the Plan is largely contrary to public input. This relates <br />to the Creekside Park development. At 2 meetings* which I attended there was strong <br />endorsement of a development that excluded paving trails (plenty of nearby paved trails), <br />a secluded picnic area (very problematic in the late 19605), and a small parking lot <br />(already convenient on-street parking available). I believe the "park plan" includes these <br />elements that are unsupported by the public meetings. <br /> <br />When I asked the Commission if the Plan referenced (perhaps as appendixes) the <br />summary of input from each public meeting, I was told it doesn't, but that the input is on <br />file. Thus, I am very wary that the plan accurately reflects public input and caution the <br />Council to be equally wary.
