<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at <br />7:30 p.m, in the municipal building, 803 Fifth Avenue NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, Councilmembers Gunderman, Hoffman, Larson, and Samuelson, <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Matthew Fulton, City Manager <br />Brny Mattila, Senior Planner <br /> <br />Council Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Larson, seconded by Samuelson, to APPROVE THE COUNCIL AGENDA. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried, <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Hoffman, seconded by Gunderman, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />APPROVE THE MAY 26, 1998, COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES. <br /> <br />5 Ayes ~ 0 Nayes, Motion Carried, <br /> <br />Council A~enda <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Commission Minutes Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, with Council consent, received the minutes of the Economic Development <br />Commission - April 14, 1998; and the Park, Recreation, and Environmental Commission <br />- April 1 , 1998, <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />Hoffman's appointment to Council created vacancies on the Economic Development <br />Commission and Civil Service Commission, Letters were sent to residents who had <br />expressed previous interest in serving on municipal commissions. <br /> <br />Motion by Larson, seconded by Samuelson, to APPOINT LINDA HARMON TO THE <br />REMAINDER OF ANN HOFFMAN'S TERM ON THE ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION EXPIRING JANUARY 31, 2001. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Larson, seconded by Samuelson, to APPOINT JENNIFER BERGMAN TO <br />THE REMAINDER OF ANN HOFFMAN'S TERM ON THE CIVIL SERVICE <br />COMMISSION EXPIRING JANUARY 31, 2000. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Special Order of <br />Business <br /> <br />Commission <br />Appointments <br />Report 98-120 <br />
