Mattila said the planning process would involve a series of public hearings <br />and neighborhood meetings to allow for public input. Larson verified that the action <br />taken tonight would not "slam the door" on Hillcrest. <br /> <br />Hwy 8 Moratorium <br />Ordinance <br />Report 98-019 <br />Ordinance 639 <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Gregori, to HOLD A FIRST AND SECOND <br />READING, WAIVE THE READING, ORDER THE PUBLICATION, AND <br />ADOPT THE ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE IDGHW A Y 8 CORRIDOR <br />MORATORIUM TO JANUARY 31, 1999, FOR THE NORTHERN PORTION OF <br />THE MAC GILLIS & GIBBS SITE AND THOSE PROPERTIES LOCATED <br />NORTH OF 1-694. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Gregori acknowledged that the moratorium creates some difficulties for those affected <br />businesses, but the City needs additional time to determine the exact vision for Hwy 8, <br />Yalish does realize that staff needs additional time for the process. <br /> <br />Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Announcements and <br />Updates <br /> <br />Fulton will meet with representatives of Northwest Youth and Family Services (NYFS) <br />regarding the most appropriate legal relationship between the City and NYFS, The City NYFS Contract <br />has paid its first quarter dues to NYFS, and it is the City's full intent to continue <br />participation, However, New Brighton is researching whether this arrangement should <br />become a contractual relationship or continuation of the joint powers agreement. <br />Roseville has taken the lead in this issue and an update will be presented at an upcoming <br />Council meeting. <br /> <br />Gregori thanked the residents of New Brighton for the opportunity to serve as their Gregori Thank You <br />Councilmember.
