The
residents noted safety concerns for children and adults needing to cross the busy Long
Lk. Rd. The path would require construction of an easement between Lots 8 and 9,
both owned by Mike Mezzenga. Mezzenga's home is located on Lot 9, and Lot 8 is
vacant. Mezzenga is opposed to the path.

Currently, there are several large utility easements which would allow for a path. The
major cost of this project would be acquisition of that needed piece for the path. Staff
suggests that Council receive the petition and order a feasibility study. Proper
speculates a $2,000 expenditure for an appraisal would address any effects the pathway
would have upon nearby homes. Currently, all City sidewalks have been constructed
with Municipal State Aid (MSA) funds. However, this portion is not designated MSA,
and a funding source would need to be identified.

Gunderman verified that Mezzenga was the developer of the homes in Creekwood
Estates.

Consent Agenda

Vouchers
Report 97-040

Eagles Lawful
Gambling License
Report 97-041

CSC Appts.
Report 97-042

Stockyard Days
Gambling License
Report 97-044

Council Business

14th Ave NW and
Rosewood Ct.
