Larson supports Williams' suggestion. Gunderman also supports
Williams' suggestion, but still favors elimination of the railroad tracks.

Larson stated that the tracks near Mengelkoch and Darling Companies are used to tran.'lport
finished goods from the facilities, and receive materials into the plants. Williams
confirmed that this track crosses Highway 8.

Fulton will ask the railroad consultant to present their tindings on January 28. He feels
there is a need to work inconjunction with the railroad to determine short term alternatives.

Williams supports development of a short term win-win solution for both the City and
railroad. The railroad needs to comprehend the severe delays being imposed upon
resident'l, and recommend suggestion.'l.

Gunderman noted that the train traffic also creates safety issues associated with vehicles
traveling other streets to avoid the crossings.

Announcement'l and Updates

Fulton said staff will meet with residents of the Valley View/Roxanne Ln. area to address
issues relating to parking, enforcement, police patrol, and street maintenance.

The newly appointed commissioners will be notitIed of upcoming commission meetings.

Council Business

10th St. Railroad
Crossing

Announcement'l and
Updates

Valley View Area

Comm.
