I

I

I

Council Meeting Minutes
October 22, 1996

Page 8

Council Business. continued

Kramer said recalculating and downsizing should address Lowell Johnson's concerns
relating to the 30 ft. setback. Kramer thanked Council and staff for their consideration.

Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Benke, to CONTINUE SP-196, CITY OF
MINNEAPOLIS WATER WORKS, TO NOVEMBER 12, 1996.

5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried.

Mattila presented a site plan review and nonconforming use permit to construct a 4,600
sq. ft. addition onto an existing building, Hypro Corp., 375 - 5th Ave. The addition
allows for needed manufacturing space and complies with district and parking standards.
The addition increases the need for additional parking, but existing stalls comply with
code. One existing nonconformity is the asphalt curbed parking lot, but the applicant
will install concrete curbing around the addition. The asphalt curbing controls storm
water drainage, and RCWD does not anticipate additional ponding. The Planning
Commission recommends approval. There has been no opposition from nearby
properties. The exteriors of the existing and new addition will be blended, and the
wooden pallets stored behind the building will be removed.

Motion by Williams, seconded by Larson, to WAIVE THE READING AND ADOPT
THE RESOLUTION APPROVING NC-I06, SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS;
APPROVE LP-320, SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
1.
