<br />c .- <br /> <br />< v <br /> <br />.~ <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 87-58 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE USE OF OPTICAL SCAN VOTING EQUIPMENT <br /> <br />Whereas, the City of New Brighton is familiar with the benefits from the <br />use of optical scan voting equipment; <br /> <br />Whereas, the benefits include ease of use, flexibility, and portability; <br /> <br />Whereas, the City of New Brighton is interested in placing this equiprrent <br />in use in the corrm..mi ty; <br /> <br />Whereas, a greater benefit can be obtained if the use of optical scan <br />voting equipment is coordinated by Ramsey County; <br /> <br />Whereas, this coordinating role includes the acquisition of the device <br />to program the scanners, provide emergency back-up scanners, and supply <br />support materials such as ballots; <br /> <br />Now, therefore be it resolved that: <br /> <br />1. City staff shall prepare a proposal to include optical scan voting <br />equiprrent in the 1988 Annual Budget. <br /> <br />2. The Ramsey County Board is encouraged to take whatever action is <br />necessary to enable the COunty to assurre its coordinating role. <br /> <br />Adopted this <br /> <br />12th <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />May <br /> <br />, 1987 <br /> <br /> <br />
