<br />" <br /> <br />,.. <br /> <br />the courthouse in St. Paul would cause inconvenience and in- <br />creased expense to crime victims, witnesses, defendants, police <br />officers, and other city personnel involved with law enforcement; <br />would increase law enforcement costs to the City; and would <br />generally make the court system less accessible to the public it <br />is designed to serve; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council further finds that it is in the best <br />interest of the public in general and the citizens of the City <br />that Court continue to be held in the Suburban Courts; and <br />WHEREAS, certain Cities in Ramsey County have indicated <br />opposition to the Court's plan and have authorized legal action <br />to prevent the closing of the Suburban Courts or the removal of <br />court functions therefrom; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the <br />City of NRW Rriqhtnn <br />1. That the City of New Brjghtnn , by its City <br />Council, hereby states its opposition to the closing of the <br />Suburban Courts in Ramsey County and to the transfer of court <br />functions from the Suburban Courts to the courthouse in st. Paul. <br />2. That the law firm of LeFevere, Lefler, Kennedy, O'Brien <br />and Drawz of Minneapolis, Minnesota is hereby authorized to <br />commence legal action to prevent the closing of the Suburban <br />Courts or the removal of court functions therefrom in the name of <br />the City along with any other Ramsey County Cities authorizing <br />such legal action. <br /> <br />2 <br />
