Council approved
the Ramsey County dispatch agreement at the June 27,2006 Council Meeting. Also, Council
authorized purchase of the interoperable radio communications equipment, aka 800 megahertz
radios, at the October 26, 2004 meeting.

Financial Impact:

Funds have been budgeted for the cost of the initial purchase of all radios, accessories, and
installation costs. Grant funds have offset the initial purchase ofthe radios and equipment and
that subsidy totals $229,425.00. New Brighton's original order will result in an obligation of
$80,458.26. Further expenditures will occur due to additional accessories and installation of
equipment with total costs to New Brighton not to exceed the original estimate of$126,000.
Also, radio maintenance fees will total about $10,000 on an annual basis. Replacement costs of
these radios and equipment will likely not be offset by grant funding.

Explanation:

The Ramsey County Countywide Public Safety Radio Communications Subsystem Subscriber
Agreement with New Brighton will address the following:

.
