4pproved

Announcements and Updates

Zisla inquired what the status is for Brighton Village. Fernelius reported that the rubble
on the site is currently being removed. Kraus-Anderson has told the City that they have
an agreement with an extended stay hotel for a portion of the site which the City has seen
in some preliminary concept plans, but Kraus-Anderson has not submitted anything
formally. He believes that the hotel would begin its land use application some time this
fall, in conjunction with a site plan for the entire site and build this spring. Zisla inquired
if the removal of the rubble was part of the demolition permit or part of a new plan. He
added that he wants to know if they had permission for the demolition and to leave the
rubble there for so long. Femelius replied that they were supposed to remove the rubble
and recycle it as part of the new development, when the redevelopment plan fell through
they left the rubble on site. The City approached them on several occasions to demand
that they remove it and they finally have. Zisla replied that he and his family support the
City and the Council in doing whatever they need too to get this development done. He
stated it's a shame that it's taken 7 to 8 years for anything to really come forward and
feels that Kraus-Anderson could have done something on that site several years ago.

• Adjournment

Jan a Gundlaeh, City Planner
