<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />July 11, 1995 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Council Business. continued <br /> <br />Fulton said the program's main element would be a data base of all community <br />leaders. A survey was mailed soliciting information which will be the basis of the <br />data base and will be used to inform people of the program. The mailing included an <br />outline of the program, and about 25 responses have been received. The Family <br />Service Center will be the program's focal point for training and activities, and the <br />kick-off will be October 26. <br /> <br />Larson said the PPC does not feel this program should be supported by City funds, <br />and feels the cost be derived from community resources. Hard noted the Chamber <br />provides resources for leadership and community programs. The official program <br />announcement will be at the July 18 Community Recognition Event. <br /> <br />Williams asked what would be the program's annual cost. Hard said a cost estimate <br />has not been detennined, but costs may involve plaques, recognition cabinet, <br />refreshments, training, scholarships, promotion, and advertising. This <br />recommendation is merely a guide and direction from the Council is needed. <br /> <br />Council thanked the PPC and staff liaison Pat Lindquist for their efforts. <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Samuelson, to APPROVE THE PROPOSED <br />OUTLINE FOR INITIATING THE LEADERSIDP NEW BRIGHTON <br />PROGRAM AND DIRECT THE CITY MANAGER TO IMPLEMENT THE <br />PROPOSED PROGRAM COMPONENTS COMMENCING IN FALL, 1995. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Gunderman announced that the 1995 Ramsey County Valuation Summary showed <br />that the market value of New Brighton single family homes increased by 4.27%. <br />This median change is the highest of all Ramsey County cities. <br /> <br />Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />The AMM is sponsoring several upcoming breakfast meetings. <br /> <br />Invitations have been mailed for the Community Recognition Event. <br /> <br />A4journment <br /> <br />Motion by Samuelson, seconded by Larson, to ADJOURN THE MEETING. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nllyes.
