<br />.~ <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, February 22, <br />1994, at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Fifth Avenue NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke (arrived 7:44 p.m.), Council members Gunderman, Larson, Samuelson and <br />Williams. <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Matthew Fulton, City Manager <br />Kevin Locke, Community Development Director <br />Les Proper, City Engineer <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Steve Larson presided over the meeting. <br /> <br />Council Allenda <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Samuelson, to APPROVE THE COUNCIL <br />AGENDA. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Gunderman, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />APPROVE THE FEBRUARY 8, 1994, COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes - None <br /> <br />SDecial Order of Business <br /> <br />Dave Bernlohr, Little Lakes Little League (LLLL), presented the LLLL proposal <br />which would provide funding for improvements to the ball fields located at Totem <br />Pole Park, and Pike Lake and Sunnyside Elementary Schools. The LLLL donation <br />is derived from registration fees which corresponds to about $10 per participant or <br />$1,500 annually. The proposed improvements would be made over a four year <br />period and include: backstop hoods, dugout fencing,!l"d protective fencing. <br /> <br />Gunderman asked if this proposal fits in well with the Park Department's plans. <br />Park and Recreation Director Maurie Anderson said the proposal would allow for <br />distinct improvements to Totem Pole Park and would bring the other youth ball <br />fields up to standard. The LLLL proposal allows for park improvements with only <br />a modest financial commitment from the City.
