Citizens should communicate their disapproval of this <br />debt to their representatives. <br /> <br />Childs presented a study which ranks the number of full-time employees for <br />46 Metropolitan cities. New Brighton employs 2.8 full-time employees per <br />1,000 residents and ranks fourth to the lowest. The three lower ranked <br />cities include two cities which contract for police services and the City of <br />Blaine. Blaine operates in the same manner as New Brighton in which there <br />is a long-term commitment to running a lean. efficient organization which <br />utilizes part-time/seasonal staff. <br /> <br />Announcements & <br />Ucdates <br /> <br />Sales Tax Option <br /> <br />Municipal Full-time <br />Employee Ratio <br /> <br />St. Paul proposed a new concept to split the revenues received from fines Fine Revenue <br />collected from misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors. The concept is a <br />2/3 split of fine revenues to St. Paul and the suburbs, and a 1/3 split to <br />Ramsey County. Such a split would bring New Brighton an additional <br />$18,000 in annual revenue, St. Paul would get an additional $600,000. To <br />recover the loss, Ramsey County could levy back $400,000 of their losses <br />against St. Paul residents and $400,000 against suburban residents. <br />Council said they would not support this concept. <br /> <br />The 15th Annual Town Hall Meeting is Saturday. March 28, at Highview <br />School. The keynote speaker will be Patty Wetterling. <br /> <br />Metropolitan Council will sponsor a forum on March 30, 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 <br />p.m. at Earle Brown Center. The topic is the Alternative Approach to <br />Delivering Government Services and the keynote speaker will be Ted <br />Gabler, author of the new book.
