It tells you the expected change in the property <br />tax on your rental home this coming year. This is very <br />important information for you as a rental housing resident. <br />Property taxes are by far the largest expense in operating <br />rental housing. High property taxes force your rent up and <br />take away money that could otherwise be used for repairs and <br />improvements. <br /> <br /> <br />The Truth in Taxation statement tells you the time and place <br />for public hearings on the proposed property taxes for our <br />city, county and school district. You are invited to any of <br />these hearings top express your opinion.
