(763) 784-4040 Fax (763) 784-5397 Mr. Grant Fernelius Community Development Director City of New Brighton New Brighton, MN 55112 Re: Belair land use re-zoning; and Midwest Asphalt & Ferrellgas relocating Dear Mr. Fernelius: We are in receipt of your letter addressed to New Brighton Property Owners dated September 7, 2006, It is a notice of public hearing for land use actions at Belair Excavating at 2200 Old Highway 8, We are a tenant in the Fedtech building, We are an irnmediate northern neighbor to Belair. We object to the re-zoning proposal from 1-1 light industrial to 1-2 heavy i nd u stria I. . I am a part owner of our business, We have been in this location since 1986, We get dust blowing from the south into our building a lot of the time from Belair's present operation, Would there be even more of it with the proposed change to their operation? We object to moving Midwest Asphalt to the Belair site, Oil based fumes would be blown our way much of the time from the asphalt plant. On October 2, 2006 we received notice that the City of New Brighton wants to re- locate Ferrellgas, the propane company, to be our immediately west neighbor in Mounds View, on the Tyson companies property, We oppose this move too, We have great concerns about propane smell from west winds and safety hazards from potential propane tank explosions, It will be hard to attract and retain employees as a result of these changes, Will we be compensated if these changes cause adverse effects to our employees' health, or to our business overall?
