e

e

e

REQUEST:

LP-5, Lanoscape and Plot Plan

LOCATION:

Silver Lake Road and 16th StreeL l~~

APPLICANT: Faith Christian Reformed Church

DISCUSSION:

The church plans to add a 70' by 51' addition to the northwest
side of the present building. The present site and building meet
Code requirements except that there is no concrete curbing around
the parking and driving areas. As these areas are not being ex-
panded; however, there would be no enlargement on the non-conformity
and the curbing would not have to be installed.

The church was originally granted a special use permit (S-14)
in 1966. Our first impression is that this expansion falls within
the terms of the special use permit and does not require an amend-
ment of it. We haven't been able to speak with the City Attorney
about this, however; and we will have to advise the Planning Com-
mission at meeting time whether any further action is required.

As can be noted, the applicant has not provided a complete
landscape and plot plan and will be requesting of the Council a
waiver of some of the normal requirements. We see no problem with
the information submitted and believe it to be sufficient in view
of the facts that only the immediate site area around the proposed
expansion will be disturbed and we have t~e original building and
site plans for the church.

I
