-

COUNCIL CONSIDERATION
Building Permit
June 25, 1974

Request: council authorization of building permit to expand church.

Applicant: Faith Christian Reformed Church

Location: 1600 Silver Lake Road (at 16th Street)

Zoninq: R-l

Valuation: ~pproximately $130,000

Size of Addition: 51' x 70' ~ 18' high

Exterior Treatment: Brick

Discussion:

The applicant plans to expand the church to provide
additional office and meeting area. The original special use
permit (S-14) for the church was not tied to any specific plan
and so no modification to this permit is necessary.

The present property meets all Code requirements except that
the parking lot should have concrete curbs. ~s there would be no
expansion of a non-conformity installation of the curbing wo~ld not
be necessary.

The proposed expansion would meet all other Code requirements.

The applicant is requesting a waiver of the normal landscape
and plot plan requirements. The materials submitted in conjunction
with the plans on file of the original church building, are
sufficient and from that standpoint, the request could be granted.

Landscaping will consist of three flowering crab (l~" diameter)
located west of the proposed addition and sodding of this area.
The remainder of the site will be left in its present natural state
and will not be disturbed.
