specifications

-

ordering information

HOUSING shall be fabricated from a one-piece extruded
aluminum side panel with mitred corners that are
internally welded and sealed for weathertight integrity.
A press-formed aluminum top cover shall interlock with
the housing and have a continuous weathertight seal and
a 314" high peaked center for increasE;d strength and
efficient water run off.

LENS FRAME ASSEMBLY shall consist of a K6" thick
impact resistant clear tempered safety glass lens
enclosed by a one-piece molded high temperature
gasket. Tempered glass shall conform to USA Standard
Safety Codes (USAS) Z26.1 and Z97.1 and Federal
Specification DD-G-451 C. Lens and gasket shall be
retained in an extruded aluminum frame which shall be
hinged at the pole end and shall close and seal the
optical chamber by four (4) gasketed vibration proof
quarter-turn fasteners,

II
II
II
II
I
I
I

OPTICAL CHAMBER shall consist of a one-piece
hydroformed Kim Asymetron Reflector with a highly
specular Alzak@ processed surface and an adjustable
socket assembly for ANSI type III or type II distribution.
Reflector shall incorporate an integral down light
diffusing facet to eliminate excessive illumination directly
under the fixture. Reflector and lens frame assembly
shall form a hermetically sealed chamber for highly
reduced maintenance and cleaning, All wires to the lamp
holder shall be sealed at point of entry into the optical
chamber. Lamp holder shall be porcelain mogul base
with vibration proof lamp grip shell.

I
i
I
I I

ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS shall be UL approved
and be an integral part of the fixture. Ballasts and related
components shall be integrated onto a single mounting
plate as a self-contained subassembly, To facilitate fast
assembly and maintenance, this electrical subassembly
shall be attached to the fixture with quick disconnecting
hinges. Fast field wiring shall be provided for by
pre-wiring all electrical components with quick disconnect
plugs, All ballasts shall be of the component type
regulating autotransformer with power factor better than
0,90 (HPF). Ballasts shall be one of the following types
as required: Mercury ballasts shall provide :i:5% lamp
power regulation and :i:10% input voltage regulation, High
Pressure Sodium ballasts shall provide :i:10% lamp
power / :i:5% input voltage or :i:5% lamp power /
:i:10% input voltage regulation, as required. Metallic
Halide ballasts shall provide :i:7% lamp power regulation
and :i:10% input voltage regulation.

FIXTURE ARM shall be a one-piece rectangular aluminum
extrusion with internal centering guides. Luminaire-to-
pole assembly shall be made through a mechanical
attachment within the arm, eliminating all exposed
fasteners or welds, Arm assembly shall include a pole
reinforcing plate which will mount inside the pole for
added strength at the arm joint.

FINISH on luminaire and arm shall be semi-gloss black
(or bronze) baked enamel applied over a clear anodized
base, (optional anodized colors available on request).

4 Kim Lighting, Ine,

2V2"

28V2"

8"

iIlI

"...,'.,'~",.,.",
{'~~~;~; ;:~. .

t't:.l:.~;:, ,-

'~ .~ ~.:~o~t :
..,~.
',' . ,. .," ',.~
. .:<..

r:I

6"

-=
NOTE: Standard arm length is 8" on all poles, however,
shorter arms can be provided for A and B mountings if
a more compact look is desired, On square poles, arms
can be completely eliminated for A and B mountings,
Consult factory for details.

standard mounting arrangements
III

A __

B ____

f~fft:;",;~:;,~~lS."

;,/' ",," '~ti...,
j,51;''';~~ -"

';,,:,"- '.~.

EI

.-;::1.':("

\~I-':..;...
"

'.\~-""~-

"~;'~~':;,\:_";.t.,- .. ,

~',",>;'~NOTE':M~ounhl1gs A, B,anCl C are most commonly used
'-. ~'-kl~..~-",'~' ~~~ ',> ,': " ,~
{1.;.J:~na~;wrIL ,pt:1dtom.etrically suit almost every application,
;.~j~Tqnalry special arrangements are required which
'f'?:~~-e:):~ provide because of our flexible attachment sys-
.t~;re1ri;);!~lways consult the factory for any mountings other
_~:~ft~'n'tXRes A, B, or C.'See page 11 for other suggestions.
:?r~~~fi:~'=~' a

c

o

III

o

o

()

Fixture Line Ballast Regulation Line Operating Starting
Cat.
