Request: LP-36, council approval of plot and landscape plan for proposed warehouse expansion. Applicant: Metro Metals, Inc. /Spotts International Location: 1300 Old Highway #8 Zoninq: I-I Size of Expansion: 240'x184'=44,160 sq ft. Heiqht: 14 feet (TO match existing building) Exterior Treatment: Armco Steel Bldg. (To match existing building) Discussion: spotts International is seeking a building permit for a ware- house expansion. The proposed expansion would be to the rear or west of the most northerly building on the,proper.ty. The applicants have indicated that the expansion would accommodate their much needed storage requirements. The applicants have also indicated they would provide additional parking space for 32 vehicles (See NC-13). Access to the expansion would be from a driveway located adjacent to their northern property near Old Highway 8. The site plan is complete except that dimensions for driveways and driving lanes have not been shown. We would suggest this information be provided to the Board of Review. The Landscape plan is complete and contains all required information. We would note that the landscaping is what presently exists. The building plans are also complete and contain the required information. All code requirements are met with the exception of the items discussed in NC-13 and VN-161. The city Engineer has reviewed the applicant's plan and has indicated approval of the grading and drainage. The building expansion will be entirely sprinkled. Due to the short time we have had the applicant's plan we have been unable. to have the Fire Department review the proposal in terms of emergency access and possible hydrant location. We will attempt to have this information for Tuesday's meeting.
