<br />council Proceedings <br />City of New Brighton <br />April 12, 1977 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />.,---. <br /> <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />Attorney stated hearing was properly called. <br />The City Planner reviewed .'the planning report and <br />Planning Commission recommendations. <br /> <br />NC-18 <br />Mengelk6ch <br /> <br />Murial Bochnak, Manager of Mengelkoch, was present <br />to respond to Council questions. <br />She stated that Mengelkoch was applying for permit <br />at this time because contractors were already on the <br />site constructing approved new construction and it <br />would be less costly to keep them on the site for <br />the additional building. <br /> <br />8:49 to 9:04 <br /> <br />Councilman Hardt asked what the hardship was. <br /> <br />Ms Bochnak stated that the building to be constructed <br />was for the purpose of containing air pollution equipment <br />so that the rendering plant could comply with City license <br />regulations. <br /> <br />Councilman Werdouschegg asked whether the building could be squared off <br />~' in the area of the proposed new construction. <br />Ms Bochnak stated that was feasible from a construction <br />standpoint but access would be lost to a sewer sump. <br /> <br />Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Hardt to close <br />hearing <br />5 ayes- 0 nayes- carried <br /> <br />Close <br />Hearing <br /> <br />Motion by <br />and adopt <br />fact: <br />1. <br /> <br /> 2. <br /> 3. <br /> 4. <br /> 5. <br />,...-;-- 6. <br /> <br />Fisher, seconded by Werdouschegg to waive reading <br />resolution making the following finding of <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br />NO. 1869 <br /> <br />The property is uniquely located between Gordon <br />Rendering, 1-35W, 14th Street and the railroad tracks. <br />The principal structures are situated approximately.--- <br />350 feet from 14th Street NE <br />14th Street deadends near the northeast corner of the <br />site and does not serve parties to the east. <br />The topography of the site is such that screening <br />is effectively provided from 14th Street. <br />That the items noted above create both unique <br />circumsta~ces and undue hardships in this application. <br />That the purpose of the structure is to house air pollution <br />abatement equipment, therefore making it an issue of public <br />heal th,' safety and welfare. <br />
