TRAFFIC
DISRUPTION

I
I

Although this lighting configuration will create
an illuminated island where one does not exist,
from a review of the site plan it does not appear
that surrounding residential properties will ex-
perience a measure able increase in glare from
these lights.

The hours of operation for the two restaurants will
be from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (12:00 a.m. on
weekends). As a result, it may be expected that
any unpleasant effects as a result of the lighting
of the Phase I area will be restricted to this time
period.

Appendix E contains the September, 1975 traffic
evaluation report, prepared by Jack Anderson
Associates for Parranto Bros., Inc. concerning
the potential effects on vehicular traffic stem-
ming from the proposed development in terms of in-
creases in, or variations of, current traffic
patterns in the area. Major findings of the traf-
fic evaluation study are as follows:

A. Trip generation:
1. Wendy's Hamburgers - PM peak hour traf-
fic, 61 in, 53 out or 114 trips; 24-hour
weekday traffic, 600 in, 600 out.

It should be noted that peak hour traffic genera-
tion anticipated for Wendy's is considerably lower
than those measured at similar type facilities in
several Chicago suburbs in early 1970. In the
Chicago area study peak hour traffic generation
measured from 339 to 194 trips per 1,000 square
feet of gross floor area.

VI-3
